SDI
Semiconductor Diagnostics, Inc. was founded in 1988 by Jacek
Lagowski, Ph.D. and Lubek Jastrzebski, Ph.D., who are today the
president and vice president, respectively. The company was originally
incorporated in Massachusetts, but later moved to Tampa, Florida
where both the cofounders received appointments as professors
at the University of South Florida's College of Engineering.
Both Dr. Lagowski and Dr. Jastrzebski hold a number of U.S. patents
related to process monitoring technologies, and the company's
current affiliation with the Center for Microelectronics Research
at USF provides and excellent forum for evaluating applications
of advanced technology. The current range of products are all
manufactured in SDI's Tampa facility and give non-contact, real-time
measurements without the need for sample preparation, and include
full-wafer, high density mapping capability.
To date, over 200 systems have already been installed worldwide.
The company employs more than 30 people in the Tampa office,
a Service/Applications office in Vancouver Washington, and has
sales representatives and distributors throughout the world.
The company has recently relocated to a larger custom-built manufacturing
facility, to meet increased customer demand. Investment in R&D
continues at up to 30% of sales, allowing the company to continuously
develop new product generations and expand applications.
